Some more things I saw at the Quilt show that impressed me...so i'm sharing!!!

A bag made by Patricia Butron for a creative clothing challenge.."Red plus one"

"Oriental
Images" by the ladies who attended "The Biggest Morning Tea" in Canberra in May 2012...a great idea for a charity group quilt, I think...

Another challenge of a colour plus one . Mrs Thompson created a small quilt 70cm by 50 cm
Great technique .

Another Japanese inspired quilt "Japanese Garden Path".This quilt is 140x128 cm and was made by Margaret Lamond. It was not entered for judging...not sure why!!

screen printed flora
My favourite stall ...could have stayed for hours just  looking at the colours...

WOW...
A fantastic example of quilting."Ruled by Chocolate"....This stunning example  made by Desley Maisano and it won Best of Show in 2011 in Victoria , Australia. It was named because of the chocolate colour of some of the material used, the amount of ruler work needed for the quilting and the amount of chocolate Desley consumed whilst making this!!!Ruler, stencil and freehand machine quilted.

A simply stunning ,scrappy quilt made by Michiyo Fukumoto ."A Ray Of Light" was made for the challenge, "What the World Needs Now".
It depicts a ray of light into the world in its state of darkness and, hopes for a bright future and peace.

...the fabrics are all cotton but look like silk and designed and created by Reece Scannell. He gave the materials to an aussie quilter ,unfortunately I
didn't get her name . She transformed a black and grey screen printed design into  quilts with just so much colour and intricacy...love, love, love this and will be visiting his studio next time I'm in Sydney and I won't be as controlled !!!
I could keep going , but, you guys will end up, with as much of a migraine as I had. If you would like to see more quilts go to:
