Our Quilter....

The person responsible for both of us being able to get on with making and creating is Irene Lazari. A few weeks ago we finally made the time to take a trip to her place to see the beast of all machines...the Gammill...Well what can I say...we were both blown away..........
Firstly , it is huge, at least four and a half meters long and about  a meter and a half wide. Most importantly it is technologically just wow!! Its computer capabilities are incredible,not like my little machine at home which does not even have a thread cutter...

We loved the laser mapper that can map out specific areas on a quilt top, stitch regulator ,the great stretching system for the three layers , the programmes and options for edge to edge quilting ,and, of course, the way it glides when in free motion mode...
We both had a go at the computerized and the free motion modes.It was strange controlling speed with a button and not with a foot pedal and we were both concentrating so much our heads and shoulders ached...but, with lots and lots of practice it would be do-able ..
The opportunities are ENDLESS and needless to say we both didnt sleep that night. ..!!!
