These zig zag blocks seemed basic but, after completing a couple of seriously wonky ones - even when ultra careful with cutting and sewing , I gave up on the instructions (light bulb moment at midnight : same thing happens with recipies and that's why I don't bake!! ) I decided there had to be a better way to eliminate some of the unforeseen errors .
My method proved better for me but, the project and my head screamed ENOUGH make a baby change/play mat which, is what I did. Final size is 80x80 cm and with the left overs I made a fairly large zipper pouch so mummy can carry all necessities when on the move. Had to put the sheep as a backing for the zzz factor! This project started August 1 and was completed September 15. Quilting lesson 101... Even little things take plenty of time to complete ....lets not calculate social media posts or a blog finally happening !! Went through the not unusual emotional rollercoaster many of us go through : hate, like and love that happens whilst constructing so many quilts. Ended up pretty pleased with myself for completing a mini block project and more importantly, having NO scraps left. Maro
