Hi!! I just realized that haven't written on the blog this year so I would like to wish everyone a happy and creative 2013.
Now about my new project!! I am sure you have guessed by now that I love my scraps. I keep them for years until the right idea and opportunity comes around.
This runner was made with the trimmings of a triangle quilt made for my daughter (pictures below). After trimming the square pieces made from triangles I was left with a number of rectangular stirips with a small triangle on the corner that were just too cute to throw away. There were not that many pieces to make a quilt so I had to think about how to work the project so as to 'expand' the end result. I chose a neutral fabric to connect the small pieces together and proceeded to piece them longways. This produced 10 long strips about 1 inch wide. In another "stretching exercise" a plain strip was added between these strips. This result was a long thin quilt(102 x 13 inch (2.60m x .33m)) that looked great as a table runner. - Nonie
