To throw - or not to throw!

About five years ago I got my hands on some velvet curtains, cushions, and sample material from a store that was going to get a "face lift' . My heart skipped a beat at the sight of all that free fabric ( even though I had no idea what I would do with it ). Over the years the excitement of this acquisition wore off. It ended up in a trunk under the stairs.

Handling this 'treasure' was more challenging than I thought. The fabric was stretchy , uneven, of different thickness and it frayed a lot. It was frustrating and I was angry at myself for being so impulsive and taking it without thinking. Not to mention the valuable storage space this lump was taking up - You know that space that other fabric could be using........

The thought of throwing it out crossed my mind and on a few occasions I even pulled it out of the trunk - only to put it back in for another few years. Like everything in life the right time came for it.

Just to think that I almost threw the fabric away. (on more than one occasion! ) -Nonie

Our quilts on stage!

It's great to see quilts in action!

This summer some of my older quilts went on stage and had quite the performance in the end of year play "The quilt of love!" by Γελαστό Πορτοκάλι nursery school in Kifisia, Greece.

The young actors designed their own quilts, performed like stars but most importantly had a lot of fun and learned about the art of giving.

p.s. I love the "patchwork design" stage set made with the students' art work!
